  • Biology

    In year 7, students are taught Science, including various biological topics,  in form groups three times a week. In year 8, Students are taught Biology once a week in form groups. In both Key Stage 3 years the National Curriculum is followed. Learning is supported by practical work, and students are encouraged to develop independent learning skills. A range of resources are available to learners for homework and extension activities. Topics include Cells, Nutrition, Respiration, Photosynthesis, Genetics and Ecology. End of year Examinations take place in May. The students carry out a wide range of experiments. Pupils are encouraged to participate in various themed events during the year such as Spooky Science Week, when additional activities are held both inside and outside lessons.
