French is incredibly popular at Key Stage 4 where many students opt for this subject as a GCSE. This is an exciting time for MFL, as exam requirements are changing and we believe this will better equip our learners with more genuine language skills. We follow the AQA French specification which provides a balanced curriculum addressing the four key skills with equal weighting: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The resources that we provide to enhance students’ learning are imaginative, creative and challenging. We encourage kinaesthetic learning which gets students actively engaged in developing their language skills.
