Upton Court Grammar School student Kiran Handa, 15, entered the record books today by breaking the Guinness World Record for 'most countries identified when prompted with the capital city'. The previous record stood at 30 countries in sixty seconds, and Kiran achieved forty countries. The event was carefully timed and filmed to meet the requirements of Guinness World Records.
Kiran’s staggering achievement also raised money for Tourette’s Action charity, and raised over £1000. Donations are still being made, and are invited by visiting his online fundraising page on https://www.justgiving.com/Kiran-Handa19
Upton Court Grammar School Principal Mercedes Hernández Estrada said “Kiran is an extraordinary young man with an encyclopaedic knowledge of geography and capital cities. The school is fully behind him in his drive to raise money for charity."
