Students at Upton Court Grammar School performed their Christmas production to delighted pupils from Foxborough Primary School on 18 December 2013. After enjoying a complimentary meal in the school’s new Restaurant, students and staff were treated to a performance of the show, called “Don’t Shoot the Mayor”, written and directed by Upton Court Grammar School teachers Laura McKendrick and Alex Carr. The play is set in 1925 Chicago where corruption is rife and members of the community get up to all kinds of tricks, pranks and deceptions.
UCGS students demonstrated a flair for acting and singing while performing outstanding dance routines.
Performances continued into the evening of 19 December where students continued to wow the audience, consisting of parents and members of the public, with talent and energy.
Upton Court Grammar School Principal Mercedes Hernández Estrada said “The show was lively, entertaining and incredibly exciting. The twists and turns in then plot and catchy tunes had us all on the edge of our seat and clapping along. A great way to end the term!”
