Former Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, Lord Ian Blair, visited Upton Court Grammar School this week to address sixth form students interested in careers in policing, criminology, journalism and politics. He spoke about the importance of communication as one of the most importance skills needed in any career, but also having high ethical standards to guide actions and decisions throughout one’s career.
Students were inspired as Lord Blair also discussed his experiences in many high profile roles he has held, including Police Commissioner and Cross-Bench peer in the House of Lords.
Upton Court Grammar School Principal Mercedes Hernandez Estrada said “Lord Ian Blair has inspired students with a thought provoking address. His commitment to reach the highest standards whilst remaining true to moral values mirrors the school ethos.'
