Students at Upton Court Grammar School showed off their entrepreneurial skills at Burnham Business Park on 4 February, and were awarded two awards at the event run by Young Enterprise. Participating in the Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead area, managers of Just Green received the first prize for Best Business Plan, while Scented Moments came third in the Business Plan award.
Just Green was a company set up in September 2014, and specialise in the production of handmade bracelets and necklaces from soda can pop tabs. Scented Moments manufacture candles using environmentally friendly materials and essential oils.
Upton Court Grammar School Principal Mercedes Hernandez Estrada said “Students took on the challenge of using their talents to become entrepreneurs whilst being mindful of the environment and using recycled products. They have learnt a great deal during the process and are looking to be tested in the area finals.”
